Indonesia is a Southeast Asia Archipelago just north of Australia and near the equator consisting of over 13,000 Islands of which 5,000 are inhabited. With 250 million people, It is the fourth most populist country after China, India and the U.S. 85% of the population is Muslim & 10% is Christian. It was a Dutch colony from the 1600s until Independence was declared in 1945. The Government is Democratic and the economy is based on manufacturing and natural resources – oil, minerals, forest and agriculture products. Half the population lives on Java Island. The Java Island city of, Jakarta, population of 17 million, is the country’s National Capital and largest city.
