Photos were taken in Lithuania and its capital City of Vilnius. Lithuania has a population of 3.6 million and is half the size of Iowa. Vilnius dates from the 14th century and has a population of about 600 thousand. Its Old Town has structures dating from the 16th century in the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architectural styles. Lithuania gained its independence from Russia in 1991 with the fall of the USSR.
